UPPE Guidelines

This group and this event promotes the growing of perennials, and especially the growing of those that are unique, uncommon and unusual. To promote that, UPPE makes a group purchase of perennials to offer those enthusiasts that pre-register to be in the exchange. This year if you pre-register and pay the $10 you get to choose one perennial that we have purchased. You do need to choose which one you would like, you must do this when you pre-register.
Choose between:
1) Pulmonaria(Lungwort),  Majeste
2) Heuchera (Coral Bells) Indian Summer-Huckleberry
3) Heuchera(Coral Bells) Indian Summer - Blackberry
This event is very unique in itself. There is no other event in Canada that is quite like this. This event attracts horticultural enthusiasts from many locations in the province. Enthusiasts from Denare Beach in northern Saskatchewan and as far south as Kennedy (near the US) border have attended this event. We would love to have you attend. Please join the fb group at Ultimate Perennial Plant Exchange.

GUIDELINES FOR EXCHANGE
-If you are registered to be in the perennial plant exchange you can bring a maximum of ten perennials. However, no more than two of the same variety.
- Perennials must be potted, minimum diameter pot is 6”. They must be established in the pot, not wilted, and not freshly dug.
- Pots must be labelled with, your name, Latin/botanical name, and , common name.
Some plant information and photo is much appreciated.
- No asiatic lilies, no oriental lilies, no tiger lilies please. We do not want anyone to have the risk of taking home the dreaded red lily beetle. Plants may be inspected for this pest when you arrive. I do not have any red Lily beetles in my collection and I most certainly do not want them, they would ruin this event, Thankyou.
- Perennials will be grouped on the tables according to, SUN, SHADE, PART SUN, PART SHADE, EDIBLES, GRASSES, ETC.
- The perennial plant exchange starts at 1:30 pm, to allow participants in the exchange to browse , please have your plants there 12:30 at the latest.

HOW THE EXCHANGE WORKS
When you arrive you need to go to the PLANT EXCHANGE area to unload your plants. Someone will assist you there. Your plants will be placed on tables according to their group. Your name will be entered into each round of draws that you brought plants for. For example, if you brought five plants , your name will go into the first five rounds.
For each round, when your name is drawn and called, you get to choose one perennial from all of the perennials that are available.
It is advised that you browse all of the plants before the drawing starts to have an idea of what you might choose, from the tables, when it is your turn. There will be many amazing, unique and interesting perennials to choose from. Please bring some of those special ones to share with other enthusiasts.
After you have unloaded your plants, you will need to find a spot to park your vehicle along the road in the development where my acreage is.
